Depending on what you are doing in Starfield, it can take hours to make any progress on the main campaign. Who can blame you though? The side content is rather excellent, and being distracted is all part of the Bethesda experience we all know and love. When you are finally ready though, Constellation needs your help.
Once you have joined Constellation, Sarah will ask you to help her follow a lead on the location of another relic. It’s time for a scavenger hunt across the galaxy, only now, you have a flesh-covered buddy to help you out. In this guide, we will walk you through how to complete “The Old Neighbourhood” main quest.
Note: Since we are covering one of the main quests in Starfield, expect some spoilers going in. You have been warned.

Starting The Old Neighbourhood Quest
To start the quest, all you have to do is head to The Lodge. You will find Sarah either asleep in her room or wandering the halls. Give her a prod and tell her you are ready to set off. She will become a permanent companion for a while while you are on this quest. Be sure to talk to her and transfer some ammo from her inventory. She doesn’t need it, but you certainly do.
Sarah mentions she has a lead on a Vanguard member who operates in the Sol system. They like to visit a pub on Mars in the subterranean city of Cydonia. That’s your first destination.
Going To Cydonia
Head to your ship and then fast-travel to Mars and land at Cydonia. Make sure you have a helmet and space suit equipped otherwise you will slowly die from the hostile atmosphere of Mars. Go to Cydonia airlock and head inside.
Cydonia is massive, and it’s a place you will frequently visit over your playtime. However, for this quest, you don’t need to go far. Take the first right and head down to the bar. Feel free to hit up one of the Mission Board computers on your way – plenty of bounties to take for extra money later.
Talk to the barman who will admit he knows of Moara – your target. However, he doesn’t care for the man after he racked up a massive tab. Being the opportunist he is, he will ask you to pay the bill in exchange for some information. You have a few options, you can pay him 2000 Credits, persuade him to do it for free, or ask Sarah to respond. We highly recommend you get Sarah to talk to him as this will give you a boost to your relations and drop the price to 1000 Credits.
From here, try and persuade him. We managed to do it effortlessly without any investment in the skill, but be sure to save before you attempt it. Otherwise, you can give him the money for the info. If you don’t have the money he advises you to get a few jobs from the job board to pay for it.
Regardless of how you get the information, leave the bar and head to Venus for the next part of the quest.
The Venus Beacon
Once at Venus, you will see a group of high-level religious fanatics in orbit. You don’t want to tangle with these guys. This will kickstart a stealth tutorial. Simply turn off all your systems and reduce your Engines to 2. Then slowly make your way to the beacon. Once you are around 500 yards away, you can interact with it to get a message leading you to Luna.
Nova Galactic Shipyard
With information in hand, travel to Luna and board the Nova Galactic Shipyard. Be prepared for a fight, however. The Shipyard is currently hosting a war between two rival mercenary bands, the Ecliptic and Spacers. Neither care who you are, and both will fire on sight. The shipyard is infested with them to the point that stealth isn’t an option.
You will need to fight your way through here, being sure to loot bodies for med kits, ammo, credits, and new weapons. You eventually find a shuttle. Board it and look for a message from Moara. Turns out he has been stirring up all kinds of trouble and this has resulted in a bounty being placed on his head. With the last location of his ship in hand, it’s time to track him down and confront him.
Final Confrontation At Neptune
Moara is near Neptune, however, things are not going well for the guy. The moment you warp in, his ship opens fire. You need information from Moara, which means you can’t destroy his ship. Instead, use Target Lock and aim for his engines. Once disabled, approach his ship and dock.
Turns out Moara’s ship has been boarded by mercenaries. Kill them all as you fight through the ship and you will eventually find Moara tied up in the cockpit. Free him. You will get an opportunity to recruit him or let him continue his work defending the Sol system. In either case, he is happy for you to take his relic.
Rewards
With the relic in hand, return to The Lodge and place it with the other pieces. The puzzle isn’t complete yet, but you are one step closer. Sarah will thank you, hand you some powerful new armour, and officially welcome you to the team. Not only that, but she will offer to join you on all future adventures as a crew member.
Finally, you will receive the following rewards:
- 9500 Credits
- 400 EXP
With all of this done, you will be given two more leads to follow, which you can do at any time.
