There are all manner of fish to catch in Dredge, and figuring out how to catch them can be a lot of fun. However, not much is explained in Dredge. This is partially due to the game’s mysterious nature and desires to encourage you to explore and experiment – to figure it out for yourself.
But not everyone cares about all of that, and they just want to grab the thing so they can move on to the next cool thing. Aurora Jellyfish are one such mystery that can go unanswered for quite some time. Not only that but this mysterious fish is required for a pretty important quest. If you don’t figure it out, you can’t progress down certain fishing paths. That’s where we come in.

Where To Find Aurora Jellyfish
Aurora Jellyfish roam the seas at night, making them hard to catch by default. When the sun goes down, Dredge gets far more dangerous. More monsters spawn, your mind starts to break, and everything goes to pot quickly if you aren’t an experienced angler. Alas, if you want to catch an Aurora Jellyfish, you are going to have to risk the perils of the dark.
Not only that, you need to make it to the Stellar Basin. This is an incredibly dangerous part of Dredge – especially early on. The Stellar Basin is home to giant monsters capable of tearing your boat to pieces in seconds.
If you managed to steel yourself for the journey, however, you should find Aurora Jellyfish just existing all around the Basin. They are Coastal fish, and they are surprisingly common. The issue, however, is that you can’t use a rod to catch them.
How To Catch Aurora Jellyfish
Aurora Jellyfish can only be caught with Trawl Nets. These are locked away inside the Research Tree as they can’t be bought innately. Trawl Nets are hidden in the right-most tab, and to unlock a Coastal Trawl Net, all you have to do is spend 1 Research Part.
Dredge is a wonderfully designed game, and getting a Research Part is incredibly easy once you are in the Basin. Simply head to the Research Station and grab two of them just lying there. Keep one for later (check out our Abyssal Fishing Guide) and use one of them to unlock nets.
With Nets unlocked, purchase one from the Starlight Pontoon and then catch an Aurora Jellyfish. They are worth a decent chunk of change and are required for some Pursuits.
That’s all we have on Dredge for now. Be sure to check out our other Guides and Walkthroughs for more Dredge content. Beware of the terrors hiding in the deep.
