Bugsnax is the first big free game on the Playstation 5 — available to everyone in the month of November on PS+. While we weren’t able to get to it, we’re righting that mistake now with a full guide explaining how to catch and where to find every single Bugsnak in the game. There are 9+ areas and over 100+ Bugsnax to catch.
If you’re hungry for that ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All‘ trophy, you’ll need to complete your collection. Some of these Bugsnax are very tricky to locate — some will only come out for your camera, while others appear when you ring a bell. Below you’ll find a full list of Bugsnax for each zone, followed by information on how to find them and how to catch them. Its a big Bugsnax world, so let’s all take a bite.

Flavor Falls | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Strabbie: The simplest type. Scan it to see its route, then place a trap. Back away so you don’t scare it off! If it hides, just stay away and wait for it to return.
Pinkle: Use the Snakgrappler to pull the glass bottle off the Pinkle, then use the Snakgrappler again to catch it. It appears in the watery cave. Don’t get close or it’ll hide in its “shell” exterior.
Rootle: Set a trap in the Rootle’s simple path to catch it. If you get too close, it will hide underground. Stay away and it will re-emerge and allow you to catch it. It appears in the main section of the falls near the waterway at night.
White Rootle: Like the regular rootle, the White Rootle only appears during the day in the same spot. Just place a trap on its path to catch it.
Green Lollive: Annoying bugs that flying around the main two lower sections of the map. You can use Trip Shot to knock it out of the sky, or launch a trap with the Lunchpad.
Inchwrap: Found on the upper area through the waterfall cave. Place a trap on the rocks then cover the trap with Ranch or Cheese sauce to lure it out of the ground. If you lap is on a rock, it’ll be forced to hop out.
Sandopede: Large millipede-like creature that patrols the water path connecting the two sections of the map. Place a Trip Shot wire in its path to knock it loose. The head part is the Sandopede.
Sub Sandopede: The other small parts of the Sandopede are called Sub Sandopede. Catch the back parts while the front part is stunned with Trip Shot.
Ruby Peelbug: Appears in the small round hole-like burrows. Send a Buggy Ball through one end, and the Peelbug will be forced out the other side. Place a trap on the opposite end.
Caramel Poptick: The Caramel Poptick is a rare bouncing popcon that only appear when it’s raining. Otherwise, lure it to a trap with Chocolate or Cheese sauce.
Twisty Snackpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Wee Mewon: Legendary Bugsnax. Complete all quests for Chandlo to encounter this Bugsnak.
Mama Mewon: Legendary Bugsnax. Complete all quests for Chandlo to encounter this Bugsnak.
Garden Grove | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Bunger: Use Ketchup to lure two bungers together, then hit the bungers with ketch so they crash into each other. While they’re stunned you can catch one.
Fryder: Place a trap on the ground of the cave and cover it in Ketchup.
Shishkabug: A shy bug that hides in bushes. Place a trap on their path and cover it in Hot Sauce to lure them out.
Sweetiefly: This flying critter can’t be captured until it falls asleep. It rapidly flies until it takes a rest on a nearby rock. Watch its movements and see where it lands to rest — then set a trap and activate it once the fly goes to sleep.
White Strabby: Place a trap on its walking path and stay away to avoid scaring it. It will walk right into a trap.
Dr Sodie: An annoying soda that swims in the river. Place a trap along its path to grab it out of the water.
Weenyworm: Found in the Ketchup Farm area, the Weenyworm slowly circles a pen. Place a trap on its path to catch it.
Cobhopper: The toughest to catch creature in this area. The Cobhopper randomly jumps from one tree to the next. Watch how it jumps from trees, and place a Trip Shot on its path. Once hit with the Trip Shot, it’ll be stunned.
Crispy Snackpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Simmering Springs | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Kweeble: A shy bug that patrols its area. Simply set a trap and stay away to catch it. You can use Chocolate to lure it.
Crapple: This mean-looking Bugsnax retreats to its lair whenever you approach.
Pineantula: This tricky Bugsnax hides in the sand. Hit it with Chocolate Sauce to lure a Kweeble close — it will dig it up.
Orange Peelbug: Hides in the small burrows dug into the rocky walls. Place a trap on one end, then use the Buggy Ball to drive the peelbug out of hiding.
Razzby: A red simple Bugsnax. Just scan it on the farside of the beach and place a trap on its walking path.
Green Grapeskeeto: This flying mosquito appears in the evening on the beach. You can’t catch it out of the sky, you need to stun it — cover a Razzby in Chocolate Sauce and it will suck them dry, getting fat and dropping to the ground. You can use your net to grab it.
Snaquiri: A tricky flying Bugsnax that can only be captured mid-flight. Place a trap on a Lunch Pad and aim for the Snaquiri. When it pops up and hangs in the air, launch your trap!
Tropicabug: A tricky bug that only appears at night. When frightened, it runs into a hiding spot and never leaves. Place a trap and then lure it with a Buggy Ball covered in Hot Sauce. If it hides, lure a Crapple to attach the bush.
Lovely Sweetiefly: Appears late at night. Watch and wait for it to rest on the rocks. When it is resting, you can place a trap and catch it.
Baja Tacroach: Appears in the evening and night. Very quick, and located at Wiggles old sitting spot. Just place a trap and lure them with Hot or Cheese sauce.
Waffstackarack: A rare creature that only appears when you ring the bell near Wiggles sitting spot. Hit it with Chocolate, then wait for a Crapple to grab them when they’re exhausted — scare the Crapple away and you can net them.
Grumpy Snackpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Scorched Gorge| How To Catch All Bugsnax
BBQ Bunger: The BBQ Bunger is a more aggressive Bunger. Use the Trip Shot to stun him.
Sweet Fryder: On the windy ledge near Cromdo’s bridge. Use the Lunch Pad to launch a trap over and grab it. The wind will blow the closed trap off the ledge so you can collect it.
Ribblepede: Critters attached to the walls in the ruins. Lure them down with Hot Sauce.
Poptick: Bouncing creatures that are too small to catch. Throw Hot Sauce on the poptick to get the Scorpenyos to shoot fireballs — once the Poptick is on fire, it will pop and you can capture it.
Spuddy: A powerful charging creature! Lure two Spuddy together with Ketchup sauce and have them charge each other. When stunned, you can net one.
Scorpenyo: A burning scorpion that sticks to the walls of the canyon. Use the Trip Shot to knock it off the wall and fall into the water.
Shy Weenyworm: Found in the strange chamber you’ll unlock by luring a Spuddy into charging in the canyon. Just use your trap and stay away.
Cheepoof: A flying creature that can only be caught mid-air. Launch a trap at it with the Lunch Pad.
White Cheepoof: The same as a regular Cheepoof, but only appears at night.
Crystal Sweetiefly: Flies around the ruins. Wait for it to rest on the ruins ledge, then use the Lunch Pad to send your trap up into it. Use the grapple to collect your trap.
Green Peelbug: Only can be caught after opening the cracked wall chamber in the canyon. Use a Buggy Ball and place a trap on the opposite end of the burrow.
Puffy Snakpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Sugarpine Woods | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Kwookie: Quick cookie that can only be caught after stunning it with a Trip Shot. You’ll see it sprinting around the woods.
Charmallow: A flying, on-fire Bugsnak that only appears at night. Use Chocolate Sauce or Peanut Butter to lure it into attacking a chilly Bopsicle.
Cinnasnail: Hides on high walls. Lure it into a trap with Chocolate Sauce.
Hunnabee: Flying slow-moving bees. Just launch a trap with the Lunch Pad and snatch them out of the sky. If the trap gets stuck in the air, use the Snakgrappler.
Sprinklepede: This donut only appears on the tall watchtower on the upper side of the map. Use Chocolate / Peanut Butter to knock it down, and set a Trip Shot trap on its long path! It moves too fast to catch with a regular trap.
Yellow Peelbug: Found in the burrows of Sugarpine Woods. Like other Peelbugs, lay a trap near the burrow exit and send your Buggy Ball.
Rainbow Sweetieflie: Jump onto the high rocks near the cabin to find this fly’s perch during the day. Just place a trap and wait for it to rest.
Bopsicle: Part of the Bopsicle. Find it in the ice cave or on the upper area covered in snow. To catch a Bopsicle, trick the Charmallow to dive-bomb and set the Bopsicle on fire. Wait for the timer to reach zero and it will break into two pieces.
Big Bopsicle: Exactly the same as the Bopsicle — but instead of letting the timer run out, you’ll need to use a Trip Shot to stun it, then capture it.
Nutty Snakpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Boiling Bay | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Green Crapple: The crab stays in the water in the center of the beach. Place a trap near the water and cover it with Chocolate Sauce to lure it out.
Grapeskeeto: Flies near the cave entrance in the evening and night. Lure it to a Bugsnak that isn’t frozen with Chocolate Sauce and it’ll suck their blood — leaving it fat and easy to catch on the ground.
Golden Kweeble: Just like other Kweeble, this one patrols near the entrance of the map. Easy to catch with a simple trap and lure.
Greater Cocomite: Look in the coconut trees — use the Snakgrappler to pull down the cocnut, then lure a Paletoss to charge into it. Once it breaks into two pieces, you can catch both with basic trap techniques.
Lesser Cocomite: The second part of the Cocomite.
La Sodieux: A soda can that swims in the water near the shore. Simply place a trap in its path.
Noodler: The Noodler lives in the lava caves. Lure it out with Hot or Cheese Sauce, then hit the Noodler with Hot Sauce so the Paletoss attacks it.
Paletoss: A popsicle that patrols the lava caves and the beach. Lure a Noodler or Flamin’ Cheepoof to attack it and set it on fire. While on fire, it will cool off and eventually split into two pieces. You can also use a flaming Trip Shot.
Paletoss Grande: Slightly trickier to catch. You need to use a Trip Wire to stun it (or lure it into an enemy while charging) after hitting it with fire. Stun it before it breaks in half and catch it.
Red Banopper: Jumps between the trees out the beach. Use the Trip Shot to stun it between jumps. Don’t even try to get the on on the water — it’s impossible.
Flamin’ Cheepoof: They’re flying and on fire. You can’t lure them — use a Trip Shot to knock them out of the sky near a ledge, then touch a Paletoss with Buggy Ball to gain the ice effect. Touch the stunning Cheepoof and you can finally collect it. You can also lure the Paletoos to charge the stunned Cheepoof.
Sherbie: Patrols the far end of the beach past the lab. Place a trap on the rocks where Sherbie gets out of the sand.
Fruity Snakpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Megamaki: Legendary Bugsnak. Found during Wiggle’s quest — for defeating the boss, you’ll catch the Megamaki. Use Trip Shot and collect all the Minimaki.
Minimaki: The sections of Megamaki that follow the head. Use Trip Shot to scatter them.
Frosted Peak| How To Catch All Bugsnax
Banopper: Like other Banoppers, this one jumps between tree tops. Use the Trip Shot to knock it out of the sky.
Scoopy: One part of Scoopy Banoopy. When Scoopy Banoopy shatters into pieces, this one digs underground — lure it onto rocks!
Cheery: Another part of Scoopy Banoopy. No trick to catching these. You just need to shatter the Scoopy Banoopy with fire.
Scoopy Banoopy: Huge critter patrolling the base of the mountain. Use a Trip Shot attached to a campfire to set Scoopy Banoopy on fire, then place another Trip Shot to stun it while its charging around. If you’re not fast, it will break into Scoopy and multiple Cheery.
Aggroll: Inside one of the ice blocks in the cave at the base of the peak. Lure a fire Bugsnak or use a burning Trip Shot to free it — then use the Snakgrappler to remove the protective cup.
Chippie: A fast cookie that appears on the middle cavern. Check its route and use the Trip Shot to stun it.
Chillynilly: Cold flyer near the entrance to the map. Use the Trip Shot connected to the campfire to remove the ice effect and knock it out of the sky.
Flutterjam: A flying monster that appears at the very top of the peak only during the day. Use Peanut Butter and hit it directly to stun it.
Mt Sodie: Swimming soda can in the pond at the start. Use a trap near the water.
Stewdler: Burning pot that patrols the cave at the base of the peak. Lure it into the Scoopy Banoopy with a Buggy Ball covered in Hot Sauce. When it gets thrown, you can net it.
Melty Snakpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Instabug: Weird bug that hides in the bushes to the left of the mountain cave. Use your camera — it loves being in your camera view! Place a trap near the bush, and activate it immediately after exiting the camera.
Baby Cakelegs: Legendary Bugsnax. You’ll encounter it after completing all of Snorpy’s missions. Use the Trip Shot on the fireplace to light all the candles. When it breaks into pieces, you’ll find the Baby Cakelegs.
Daddy Cakelegs: Legendary Bugsnax. The bigger version of the Baby Cakelegs!
Sizzlin’ Sands | How To Catch All Bugsnax
Tacroach: Part of the Preying Picantis. Once its fire is out, you’ll have 20 seconds before it explodes. Let it blow and use a trap to collect the simple Tacroach.
Preying Picantis: Aggressive giant that guards the raised blocks on the right side of the map. Lure them toward the water with a Buggy Ball covered in Hot Sauce or Cheese Sauce. Let the Sodie D put out their fire. Now you can lure a Spuddy into attacking them Cheese or Ketchup — or use a Trip Shot.
Black Lollive: Flies near Shelda’s camp. Use a Lunch Pad and a Trap to launch the trap into the air and grab the lollive.
Loaded Spuddy: Angry spud that will attach anything in sight. Hit another Spuddy with Ketchup Sauce to make them attack (and stun) each other.
Buffalocust: Flies around the left side of the desert. Lure it toward the water with a Ranch / Hot Sauce covered Buggy Ball. The Sodie D will shoot water bullets to knock it out.
Eggler: Look in the tent for an egg. Hit it with Ketchup or Cheese Sauce to lure a Loaded Spuddy to attack. Once the egg is cracked open, you can catch the Eggler inside. Enemies with a fire effect will burn the Eggler.
Flapkjackarak: Wind-generating pancake that only appears in the day. Place a Trip Shot in its long winding path around the map. Just make sure to place the Trip Shot on two rocks.
Scorpepper: Invisible burning scorpion that hangs out on the large rock statue in the back-right corner. Get rid of the Incherrito and Black Lollive nearby, then lure the Scorpepper toward the water with a cheese-covered Buggy Ball. Let the Sodie D spray it with water to stun it.
Incherrito: This underground burrito can be lured into a trap with cheese. Find it circling the giant stone statue. Place the trap on the hard rock surface and cover it in cheese.
Black Razzby: Special Razzby that can be found in the underground ruins. There’s no trick to catching it. Just place a trap and back away.
Sodie D: Water-shooting soda can that’s very handy for catching the Buffalocust and the Scorpepper. Easy to catch, just place a Trap in its water path.
Cheezer: Fast cheese cracker that can be stunned with a Trip Shot in its running path.
Meaty Snakpod: Hidden snackpods appear all over. Look on high walls or hidden places — you can use the Snakgrappler to collect it.
Bombino: Legendary Bugsnax. Complete all of Cromdo’s quests to encounter the Mothza Supreme. During the battle, you’ll need to use these little bombs to knock Mothza out of the sky. They’ll appear at the top of the pyramid after the fight.
Mothza Supreme: Legendary Bugsnax. Complete Cromdo’s quest and you’ll automatically capture it. Use the Lunch Pad to launch Bombinos, then use the Snakgrappler to cut into the pizza.
