Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon – $9.99 $6.49
An 8-bit bite-sized snack before the main course, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is much better than it has any right to be. Modeled after Castlevania 3, complete with a linear campaign path (that branches) and multiple playable characters, you’ll travel the pixelated countryside until you reach a final castle. It’s Castlevania 3, designed to be fun without the brutal difficulty.
Speaking of brutal difficulty, we have Celeste. Celeste is a hardcore platforming game with a big heart. Like Super Meat Boy, you’ll have to use precise jumps to maneuver through each level — and there are some twists thrown into the formula. Any skill level should be able to finish Celeste; it isn’t until the insane B-Side and C-Side levels you’ll want to start pulling your hair out.
Cultist Simulator – $19.99 $14.99
From the people that brought you Sunken Sea, Cultist Simulator is a card game only in name. Really, it’s an adventure rogue-like that uses cards to graphically portray the randomness of your many paranormal situations. Inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos, you’ll use your cultist curiosity to unlock the secrets of the universe — and most of these secrets aren’t worth knowing. Creepy, cruel, and exceedingly mysterious, Cultist Simulator is one of the best little games for those looking for a totally unique story-telling experience.
