Just like with the past Pokemon video game titles, players can run into NPCs who may be interested in trading. These trades will require you to have a specific Pokemon in your party but unlike the past video game titles, the Pokemon trades within the Let’s Go series will feature Alolan variants. Likewise, there are NPCs scattered throughout the game which will give you a new feature or item. All NPCs Offering Trades & Gifts
Original Pokemon Starters
Bulbasaur
A grass type Pokemon is obtained once you have gathered a total of thirty Pokemon. You will need to speak with a woman from Cerulean City. She will be within her home and can offer you a level 12 Bulbasaur.
Charmander
A fire type Pokemon is obtained once you have gathered a total of fifty Pokemon. Speak with a man on Route 24 above Nugget Bridge. He will give you a level 14 Charmander.
Squirtle
A water type Pokemon is obtained once you have caught sixty Pokemon. Speak with Officer Jenny in Vermillion City who will give you a level 16 Squirtle.
Functions
IV Judge
Speak with Professor Oak’s aide within the Route 11 & 12 Gate. You will need to have registered thirty different Pokemon within your Pokedex.
Happiness Checker
Within your rival’s home in Pallet Town, speak to the sister who will tell you how happy your Pokemon are. Ideally you want your Pokemon to have max happiness for the extra boost in stats which is 10%. Look out for the phrase below as it will reveal that your Pokemon is at max happiness.
“X really, really, really loves you! I can tell you really trust each other!”
Boosts
Altering Nature
Speak with Madam Celadon in Celadon City in order to alter your Pokemon’s nature. This will cost you 10,000 and ask you to water and hinder a plant which represents boosting along with lowering a stat.
- Red – Attack
- Yellow – Defense
- Blue –SP Attack
- Green- SP Defense
- Pink – Speed
Hyper Trainer
If you have a Pokemon that is level 100 with a Bottle Cap item you can speak with Mr Hyper on Route 5. He will boost the IV of the Pokemon and max it out but you will need to first beat the Elite Four.
Move Reminder
Speak with the NPC at Indigo Plateau who will teach a Pokemon select moves that the species would normally learn at a later level. This will however require players a Heart Scale.
Gain Poke Balls
Within Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, Seafoam Islands, and Victory Road, you can find a NPC standing within a corner that will give you ten free Poke Balls if you have less than ten Poke Balls.
