Pokemon Let’s Go: How To Catch Shiny Pokemon | Pokemon Guide

November 16, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Use these tips to better your odds at catching Shiny Pokemon.

Shiny Pokemon are usually rare and hard to come by in the Pokemon games and as such they become more valuable in terms of trading. These variant Pokemon are available in the latest Pokemon installment, Pokemon Let’s Go: Pikachu & Eevee but just like the past video game installments, it’s difficult to track them down as they can appear with no rhyme and reason. But we do have some tips on how to better your odds.

How To Catch Shiny Pokemon

Tip #1

For starters you can transfer your Pokemon Go so if you have a Shiny Pokemon in the app you can bring it over to the game. This would remove the need to start searching for Shiny in the video game for your collection but remember you can only bring over the first generation Pokemon and anything that’s transferred over can not be sent back to Pokemon Go.

Tip #2

Increase the chain combo or otherwise known as Catch Combo. This is done by catching the same Pokemon in a row. The more you catch the higher your catch combo goes up which will increase the odds of catching a Shiny Pokemon. According to Dexerto, the odds as it stands without a combo for finding a Shiny Pokemon is 1 in 4,096. But your odds increase after you reach a 31 Catch Combo. As a result, you will want to set aside some time catching Pokemon if you’re after Shiny Pokemon.

Tip #3

When you are going to rank up your Catch Combo, make sure to now flee a battle as it will break your combo. Others have noted that when you do catch a Shiny Pokemon then your odds increase for finding another.

Tip #4

This is more of a note than a tip but it appears that Shiny Pokemon do not show up in your collection so you will want to make note of which Pokemon in your collection is the Shiny one so you don’t end up trading it away by mistake.
