#16 Want To Customize Your Controller Inputs Even More? You Can On Console
We’ve already discussed switching to the Combat Pro controller settings in-game, but you can customize your layout even more outside of Fortnite. On Xbox One / PS4, you can change button assignments in the Accessibility Settings menu. This is only a useful trick on standard controllers — if you have an Xbox One Pro Controller, you can use the highly customizable switch peddles to really fine-tune your setup.
From here, you can swap around the buttons to your heart’s content. Here’s a handful of tips you can use to improve your skills.
- Change The Shoot Button From A Trigger Button To A Shoulder Button
- Not necessarily required, but pressing the shoulder buttons is slightly quicker than pressing the triggers on a controller.
- Change Jump to Shoulder Button / Thumbstick Press
- If you like jumping around a lot, you probably won’t want to take your thumb away from aiming. Swap to a Shoulder or Thumbstick press and you can keep all your thumbs on the thumbsticks where they belong.
#15 Use High Sensitivity Settings For High-Speed Scouting
Here’s an awesome little tip you can take from the best Fortnite players. Increase your sensitivity in the high range [8-10], and you’ll have a far greater range of camera control. It takes less pressure on the thumbpad (or less swivel on the mouse) to turn your character a full 180 degrees.
The best palyers will often pump up sensitivity settings so they can perform a jump-back-spin maneuver that allows them to look behind them without losing any forward momentum. It’s the perfect tactic for keeping an eye on your back while sprinting to the next settlement.
