New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe

During the September Nintendo Direct, the video game industry giant unveiled that New Super Mario Bros. would see a new release on the Nintendo Switch. The original New Super Mario Bros video game titles were a hit when they released on the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii. Since the Nintendo Switch is bringing in plenty of new adopters regularly, Nintendo is dusting off their catalog of video game titles available and giving it a new coat of paint along with some additional features.

New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is bringing back the Wii title release for the Nintendo Switch while also adding in two new characters. The new characters are Nabbit who will not take any damage against enemies and Toadette who can transform into Peachette with special abilities such as a double jump or slowly falls.

The game was also a hit in the past with cooperative gameplay with players often aiding each other to progress through the levels. With a variety of characters to play, the game is likely going to be well worth picking up again on the Nintendo Switch to experience the latest characters and craft up brand new strategies to complete the levels.

Scavengers

Scavengers is a video game that that takes a few aspects to popular online gameplay modes. This upcoming Midwinter Entertainment video game is an online competitive and cooperative release. Announced during The Game Awards 2018, we only have a small CGI trailer but we do know of the finer details for the game. Apparently, this title will start out as a cooperative game where players must work together and complete objectives across an alien hostile world. Once those objectives have been completed then the game will turn into a battle royale where players must fight against each other in hopes to be the last man standing.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a battle royale video game title. It’s quickly becoming the latest and greatest within the genre due to the fact that is also another free video game title to download. Likewise, Respawn Entertainment kept this game a secret which generated a ton of hype when it was released into the market. Gamers quickly downloaded this title and it gathered millions of players within its initial launch week. Again, the game is a battle royale title so ultimately this first-person shooter will have players striving to be the last man standing. Players will find that the game will focus on teams of three and that the characters featured are hero classed based which offers their own unique attributes and abilities. Likewise, if you enjoy the Titanfall series then you will find that this game actually takes place in the same universe. Apex Legends takes place approximately thirty years after the events of Titanfall 2.

Streets of Rage 4

This may date a few people here but Streets of Rage was a fantastic franchise by Sega. Known now as a classic beat ‘em up title there is no doubt that there were plenty of gamers hoping for a fourth installment, but after the third main entry released in 1994, we’ve been in limbo as to if this series would ever continue on. Over the years there have been rumors of a new installment, remake to even fans attempting to bring out an installment. Fast forward to this year where the fourth main installment is slated to launch.

Aesthetically the game is a bit different with a more cartoonish art style, but for the most part, this is the same beat ‘em up style game that most of us enjoyed on the Sega Genesis. So far the small bit of gameplay footage we’ve received only focuses on Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding as they take out the thugs and scum from the city. So far no plot has been given out yet but we do know the story will take place a decade after the events of Streets of Rage 3.

This is also a franchise that is known for being a great cooperative title. Players tend to select from a few different characters as they embark on their journey to clean up the streets from thugs but again, since only two protagonist have been announced for the title, it looks like that these may be the default two characters.

Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood is an upcoming spiritual sequel to the Left 4 Dead franchise which was originally developed by the development team Turtle Rock Studios. It looks like the gang is bringing back the franchise in a new way since Valve hasn’t brought out a true third installment for the series. This announcement so far doesn’t come with a lot of details unfortunately. Instead, we’re only given a brief little bit of information. We know that the game will play out similar to the Left 4 Dead franchise, it will offer multiplayer and it will have a full campaign.
