Ark: Survival Evolved, developed by Studio Wildcard, is an action-adventure survival video game. Players are tossed into an island that is filled with all sorts of hazards such as other human players to free roaming dinosaurs.
The overall goal is simple, yet a difficult one within this game world, as players are tasked with surviving in the hostile environment while completing challenges and taming the free roaming beasts. During the journey, players will scavenge resources, craft weapons, fight off the various hazards and build a base. Recently, the video game received its latest DLC known as Aberration.
Within Aberration players will find themselves on a damaged ARK which results in a slew of new hazards, environments, and of course, creatures to tame. Likewise, developers have introduced new items to craft along with challenges to master.
In this particular guide, we’re going to showcase just how to locate and tame a Basilisk. Furthermore, we’ve included some noteworthy info for the creature down below.

Location
The Basilisk is a predator that will dwell under the ground and waits for prey to come along. They will typically be found within Element Falls and The Spine.
How To Tame
Taming the Basilisk can be hard but luckily you won’t have to combat it. These are fast predatory creatures so you’ll need to plan ahead. First off, you’ll need a fertile egg and to locate a Basilisk that is not attacking anything or underground. From there, you need to drop the fertile egg and get the Basilisk to eat it.
Because the creature is fast, you may want to use other creatures to quickly get away such as a Raptor. Regardless, you’re going to repeat this step a few times but make note that you’ll find that Basilisk has a slow feeding time so you’re going to be waiting a bit before you’re able to give it another fertile egg.
- Note: The best fertile egg to cause a quicker feeding time would be a Dodo egg.
