Gamers who pre-order Dishonored 2 will be able to play the game a day ahead of everyone else who buys it on launch, Bethesda has announced. In addition to the announcement, Bethesda has released a new gameplay video titled “Kill the Grand Inventor,” which offers a playthrough of one of the game’s earlier missions.
In the video, Emily Kaldwin, the female counterpart to Corvo, navigates through the grand inventor’s treacherous and intricate Clockwork Mansion. With supernatural abilities, weapons and a host of gadgets at her disposal, she makes quick and bloody work of anyone standing in her way to kill him. It’s a High Chaos playthrough, so expect a lot of violence and very little sneaking.
The upcoming game will allow players to take on the roles of either Corvo or Emily at the start and experience the game through different perspectives in each playthrough. Delilah, a mad witch with black magic powers, has seized the throne from Empress Emily Kaldwin, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca – a once-dazzling coastal city that holds the key to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the mark of the Outsider and powerful new supernatural abilities, hunt down your enemies and forever alter the fate of the Empire.
The studio plans to release a new video tomorrow called “Save Anton Sokolov,” in which we’ll check out a Low Chaos stealth and non-lethal playthrough of the same mission as today’s.
Dishonored 2 comes out on November 11 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
