BattleBit Remastered – How To Get Easy Kills With Claymores

July 13, 2023 by Adam Carr

Getting kills when over 100 enemies are shooting at you can be pretty darn difficult. Claymores can help even the playing field.

When massive publishers fail to deliver working entries of beloved games in an under-supported genre, you can always trust Indie Developers to pick up the slack. That is exactly what has happened with BattleBit Remastered, an Early Access Battlefield-esque hit that has rocked everybodies socks off.

Of course, just jumping into the game blindly will see you getting clobbered mercilessly – doubly so if you aren’t a keen-eyed marksman. Thankfully there is a rather interesting way to nab kills and ensure you always go positive when all is said and done. All you need is a few Claymores and an eye for the tomfoolerish.

How To Easily Get Kills With Claymores

Claymores being teeny-tiny bundles of explosive death are fantastic when it comes to, well, inflicting copious amounts of explosive death. You plonk these guys down, someone makes the mistake of wandering too close, and BOOM, they are taken out and you get a point on the board.

In a very ‘broad strokes’ manner of speaking, that is all you have to do. The trick is to place them in the right spots on any given map. This is easier said than done if you have no experience on any maps, however, with a bit of preplanning, you can walk into any situation and know where to plant your load.

Best Locations To Place Claymores

The best place to stick your Claymores is along any path your enemy wants to traverse. In the best-case scenario, you are looking for a spot that has some sort of limitation when it comes to visibility. The most obvious are dense foliage and tall grass. People will often be sprinting, stalking, or crawling through these areas to get to advantageous spots. Since the foliage makes it very hard to spot a Claymore, people will frequently walk right into them.

Of course, there are other key locations too. Plonking them down on corners – ideally in tight corridors – makes it very hard for your opponent to react. Similarly, on the top of staircases, ladders, and even under windows.

If you want to get creative, Claymores work very well if placed on rooftops with easy jumping access from neighbouring buildings. What will happen in these instances is enemies will jump from one building to another only to land on top of your bomb. Easy kill.

How To Unlock Claymores

Sadly Claymores are not unlocked from the get-go. You will need to put in a little bit of legitimate work before you start wolfing down that boom-bastic cheese. Claymores unlock at Level 5. We managed to get to unlock them in our first game of BattleBit, so play around and get levelling up.

How To Restock Your Claymores

If you want to get creative, then restocking your Claymores is the way to go. This can only be done with the Support class, which naturally makes this class the best for running Claymore tactics.

With this class, you can take Resupply Boxes and use those to restock your Claymores on the fly. Not only that, but the Support can even take extra Claymores, letting you lay a minefield of prodigious size.

Finally, Claymores don’t despawn on death (as of writing). If you are planting Claymores constantly and getting the most out of restocking, then you can be a real menace. It’s not uncommon to wrack up double-digit kill counts, and some have even reported hitting the big hundy.

Have fun blowing everyone up and ruining their day. You’ve earned it, soldier.

That’s all we have on Battlebit for now. Be sure to check out our other lists and guides for more content.
