This is a big year all around. We’re slowly overcoming 2020 in hopes of a better and brighter future with 2021, but while there is a health pandemic outbreak around the world, quarantines, social distancing, and even a big civil rights movement, gamers are still patiently waiting for the next-generation console platforms. Both Sony and Microsoft claim that their next-gen consoles are coming this holiday season and it does give us some entertainment to watch out for. However, we’re still waiting to hear more about each console platform.
Sony had planned to unveil its latest stream highlighting the next-generation PlayStation 5 video games last week. That didn’t happen and it was to show support towards the civil rights movement happening in the United States. Now we are gearing towards watching that stream event this Thursday, June 11 at 1 PM Pacific. It’s an event that will showcase the different video game titles coming out to the console rather than it being about the console itself. Still, we do know a few things such as Sony had been working on audio quality for the platform.
In a way to bring a surround sound experience to all players, Sony has been developing technology that would allow headphone users to hear a sound in all directions. It’s likely not something that will be perfectly showcased during the stream, but Sony did make note that users watching the stream should wear headphones.
“It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”
We’re interested in hearing how the difference will be with this next-generation console from Sony. Still, for those wondering what the console looks like and the features, it will have to help set it apart from the competition along with their current-generation console platform the PlayStation 4, you may have to wait. There’s no date set to really go over the platform itself which would demonstrate the different features that may enticing consumers to pick the console up at day one.
