New God of War PS4 Game Reaches a Very Exciting Milestone

No release date has been announced yet for this game.

Sony announced a new God of War game for PlayStation 4 during E3 this past summer, but they have been fairly quiet about it since. The game was also missing from Sony’s PlayStation Experience event this month too.

According to director Cory Barlog, who responded to someone on Twitter who gave up on waiting for news about the game, he revealed (via NeoGAF) that it recently reached a milestone. At least some version of the game is now playable from start to finish.

“Ha. no…there is a whole game here,” he said in response to someone who joked that the game might be limited to the deer-hunting sequence from the reveal trailer. “Just finished first full play through with the leads. Very exciting milestone for us!”

When Barlog announced that the new God of War game would not be featured at PlayStation Experienced, he teased that the wait for new footage will be worth it.”I promise we will be showing something really awesome when it is ready,” He stated.

The new God of War is set after the events of the third game, and it will not feature an open world- though Barlog did say it was “open.” It also will not feature the original Kratos voice actor, T.C. Carson, the role has instead passed to Stargate SG-1 actor Christopher Judge. In addition, the game will also not feature any multiplayer.

There is no announced release date for the new God of War game.
