As expected, Nintendo came out strong for their Fire Emblem direct presentation earlier today and caught many people by surprised when announcing a new mobile game for the Fire Emblem franchise.
Being titled as Fire Emblem Heroes, the game will be free-to-play mobile game that will come to both iOS devices as well Android. The game plays very similar to most Fire Emblem games; it’s a strategy RPG with a turn-base combat, tile-based map, and more iconic features from the series.
The game will also feature some of your favorite heroes from the franchise, including Marth, Roy, Chrom, Lon’qu, Anna, Lyn, and Robin. Heroes will feature new voice over work from your heroes, as well as new artwork.
In addition to the free mobile game, Nintendo has also stated that they are working on a Switch exclusive Fire Emblem game. The title has received little details, however, it will be the first mainline series for a home console since 2007’s Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
Expect to hear more of the title as we get close to the release date. Fire Emblem Heroes launches on the Google Play Store February 2, while iOS devices wait just a little longer.
