Remember when we reported that THQ was trying to sell Valhalla Game Studios' Devil's Third to other publishers? Well, it seems that proved unsuccessful as Tomonobu Itagaki (Valhalla Game Studios chief) has gotten the rights back to their still-in-development title.
Speaking in the latest issue of Famitsu Xbox 360 magazine (translated by Eurogamer), Itagaki states that "we now own the Devil's Third IP," and also thanked THQ for signing the transfer contract.
Most important thing is gamers' happiness. And people in business side like distributers and presses. And developers. It's a Happy Three. So we can't thank THQ enough. Anyway, we now own the Devil's Third IP.
They didn't want to part with this IP, but we all have to see into the future and at last they did, for us…We were anguished and they were really kind to us. Mr. Danny Bilson was searching for a way to work together until the very end. I do appreciate him and THQ managers that signed the transfer contract.
Aside from the first announcement trailer, we have yet to hear anymore details from Devil's Third. As of today, there's still no word if Valhalla Game Studios has managed to secure a publisher for the game.
We'll keep you posted on more Devil's Third news as it becomes available.
