Fans of the original Injustice title may be eager to get their hands on its sequel, Injustice 2. NetherRealm Studios held a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and according to Polygon, the panel had two character reveals for the video game.

The two characters that have been revealed for Injustice 2 at the San Diego Comic-Con panel were Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle. Within Injustice, Wonder Woman was one of the playable characters within the game roster however, Blue Beetle is a completely new hero character.

What’s interesting to note is that Blue Beetle might not be one of the more recognizable comic book characters for some gamers yet he will be one of the latest upcoming characters. That’s not all, Ed Boon from NetherRealm Studios had made a comment that players will see several more characters just like Blue Beetle.

As it appears so far, the roster for Injustice 2 will be pretty big and filled with some more obscure comic book characters. For now, the video game doesn’t have a specific release date quite yet though it will be launching at some point in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

When it comes to the storyline, Injustice 2 will pick up after the events of Injustice: Gods Among Us. The alternate timeline Batman is left picking up the pieces of society while struggling against Superman’s regime remnants. Although a new threat is set to appear that puts Earth at risk.
