There are many things that fans are looking forward to with GTA 6, but one thing that can’t be ignored is that fans simply want to get their pre-orders in for the game so that they can “feel that things are closer” to release than ever before. With the latest delay pushing the game’s launch until November 2026, some are truly desperate for something like pre-orders to start so that they can “lock in” and know that, at the very least, their copy of the game is assured. After all, if estimates and metrics are to be believed, this will be the biggest game launch in history.
The problem, though, is that Rockstar Games hasn’t announced when pre-orders for GTA 6 will go live, and with this new delay, it could be quite a while before the team feels “ready” to do it. However, one voice in the internet wilderness feels they have a good idea when the game’s pre-orders will happen. Game Roll is a content creator who has worked with Rockstar in the past, and when he was asked about when things might start finally moving on the pre-order front, he said this:
Those are some interesting dates to drop, and for multiple reasons. First, saying May 2026 is interesting, as that’s when the game was supposed to launch previously. Granted, it was initially stated that the game would release in 2025, but then Rockstar Games pushed it to May 2026. Then, they pushed it to November 2026, and fans are still bitter about that. So, having pre-orders go live in the month that the game was supposed to release in is a unique move, to say the least.
However, thinking about it objectively, they might be doing this because if they’re able to maintain the new release date, May 2026 would be the “six-month mark” to launch, and that is indeed a good time frame to start pre-orders.
Now, as for the February “at best” guess, that one is far more risky. After all, there are plenty of people who feel that another delay will come to the crime title, and if that is the case, having pre-orders go live early in the year, only for a delay to come late and then push things into 2027, will frustrate fans even further.
In the end, we won’t know when pre-orders go live until Rockstar Games tells us. So, until then, we just have to be patient.
