Capcom is chipping away at the next major installment to the highly beloved Resident Evil franchise. The survival horror IP has spanned across decades now, and what makes this new installment so anticipated is its setting. We’re going back to where it all started in Resident Evil Requiem. If you ever wondered what Raccoon City looks like thirty years after the missile strike, you’ll get your chance to in just a few short months.
Still, while we know we’re just a few months away from having our hands on Resident Evil Requiem, marketing materials can help us get a sneak peek at what’s to come. For instance, we’ve seen some trailers and even gameplay footage for this game since it was first revealed to the public. However, they have mainly focused on our protagonist Grace’s fear and fleeing from danger rather than taking it on directly.
Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay Footage Highlights Combat
While we only get a brief look, the latest marketing material for the new Resident Evil game does feature some combat. This was a clip shared on a Japanese television program. Fortunately, insider Dusk Golem on X obtained the clip and has been sharing it online for others to view. That clip should be viewable from Dusk Golem’s X post above.
Again, it’s not a lengthy clip, but at least we have our first real look at combat with Grace firing a handgun against some zombies. Likewise, we’re not entirely sure where the location is at this point in the game. We might not be in Raccon City, which was previously confirmed to be just one of the locations you’ll be visiting in the game.
Regardless, any chance we can get a look at this upcoming Resident Evil game, we’ll take it. Hopefully, this is not our last look at the game before 2025 wraps. We do have The Game Awards this month, so maybe we’ll see something. But if not, we’re not waiting too long before its release, as it’s set to launch on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Unfortunately, while this game does have some connections to the Resident Evil Outbreak games, don’t anticipate a new release for that series. We already heard that at the moment, there are no plans to bring the Outbreak line of titles back into the limelight.
