Microsoft has been pushing Xbox Game Pass for some time now. It’s their pride and joy, apparently, for gaming. As Microsoft moved away from bringing out exclusive games to the Xbox and PC platforms, they have been pushing Game Pass heavily. Subscribers can enjoy a vast catalog of video games, typically on consoles, PC, and most importantly, the cloud.
Cloud gaming is becoming far more popular lately, with Game Pass offering players some of the latest titles available. So if you have a stable and fast internet connection, you can enjoy these games on a plethora of devices, such as your phone or even an Amazon Fire Stick. Likewise, if you have been a subscriber for a long time, you might be aware of Game Pass’s wave system.
Each month, we get two waves of video games added to the catalog. The first wave will generally come during the first week of the month. Those games will take us to the midway point of the month, where the second wave will help bring games to an end out the month.
Xbox Game Pass Losing 3 Games August 15
All of Microsoft’s first-party studios will remain on the Xbox Game Pass subscription. However, we have seen some instances where a game might get dropped due to licensing issues. What won’t stay on the subscription service is third-party games. Eventually, they will be rotated out of the subscription service, with Microsoft noting in advance their removal.
Today, Microsoft confirmed the first wave of August titles. However, that announcement also saw the reveal of three games leaving on August 15, 2025. Those games that will be leaving the service are Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload.
Fortunately, Microsoft does offer subscribers to Xbox Game Pass a special 20% discount to purchase these games before they are removed. If you enjoy the games, you can keep them in your digital library. With that said, it’s worth pointing out that we know Anthem is soon going offline entirely. We reported last month on its shutdown, which you can read more about right here.
