There’s a ton of hype over Grand Theft Auto VI. It’s the game that has remained elusive for years as we waited for Rockstar Games to chip away at it. While the title was initially unveiled for a release this year, GTA 6 is going to slip into 2026. Developers needed more time, and now we’re hopeful that an extra year of work will deliver another incredible gameplay experience.
However, there’s a lot we still don’t know about the game. Rockstar Games is keeping GTA 6 behind closed doors. Only two trailers have been released so far, with no official information regarding gameplay and offering only bare-bones background details on a few characters. That’s not slowing down the hype. If anything, the lack of knowing more is only driving fans to dig further into what we do have.
Grand Theft Auto VI To Hit 60 FPS On PlayStation 5 Pro

One of the questions that continues to be raised is whether Grand Theft Auto VI will be able to achieve 60 FPS. Many fans and technical analysts suggest that the game will be locked at 30 FPS. However, a new report online says that might not actually be the case for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Thanks to Push Square, we’re learning that one insider, known as Detective Seeds, has posted a new, surprising detail online. According to the insider, their sources, familiar with the matter, claim that Rockstar Games is receiving direct assistance from PlayStation.
More specifically, PlayStation engineers are supposedly helping Rockstar Games hit 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 Pro. They went on to note that they have been managing to hit that fabled 60 FPS target so far and that there will be multiple graphical options for the PS5 Pro. We also received news that FSR is coming to the PlayStation 5 Pro earlier this year, which you can read more about here.
Of course, this is nothing more than a rumor right now. We’ll have to wait and see what Rockstar Games officially unveils. It could be wishful thinking, as even a former Rockstar Games developer touched on, trying to hit 60 FPS for that game would be challenging for Rockstar.
If you don’t recall, Obbe Vermeij, a former technical director at Rockstar Games, noted that it would be sensible for developers to run with 30 FPS. In his opinion, it’s a typical curse for game developers when it comes to hitting 60 FPS.
