May 19, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

The latest Darkest Dungeon patch adds town events.

Darkest Dungeon
has just been updated with a new update called “Everything Burns,” adding over 40 new Town Events to the game.

Each time players return to the Hamlet after a quest, an event may occur. Events provide new opportunities for players to pursue, and occasional surprises–even hazards–for them to deal with. It’s the Darkest Dungeon, and just about anything can happen.

As announced earlier this month, every event comes with its own custom art, and some of these events are linked to Gather and Activate quests, making it so that the quests that require players to carry items that fill their inventory slots with aren’t quite as annoying.

The system can be disabled in the options menu if you don’t like surprises, but I’d recommend keeping them on.

Additionally, the game has been updated with a host of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.

You can read the full patch notes on Steam. If you’ve yet to play the game, check out our review.
