The Big Red Dead Redemption Secret Announcement Potentially Revealed

June 20, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s what fans uncovered.

Red Dead Redemption fans were waiting for something truly massive. News emerged this week from an actor, Rob Wiethoff. For those unaware, Rob was the voice actor who portrayed the ever-iconic outlaw, John Marston. Recently, Rob noted that he had some very exciting news coming while streaming the game for his fans. However, he couldn’t tell us what the news was.

That also allowed some of the other actors involved in the series to chime in and alert fans that they knew exactly what Rob was talking about. Of course, just like Rob, no one was giving out any news yet. The anticipation was building, with some hopeful that this news would be something new for the franchise. One of the popular speculations that fans were bringing up was a next-gen update to Red Dead Redemption 2.

With speculation and hype building up, Rob went online again to distance this announcement from Rockstar Games. So, a lot of us were left wondering just what the announcement would be. Well, it turns out we might know now, thanks to a post on Reddit. It turns out that a new panel is coming to the National Gaming Expo this August in Tampa, Florida.

Was this the announcement Rob was so excited for?

The panel will feature several iconic cast members from the Red Dead Redemption games. So, you’ll get a chance to meet the cast if you happen to attend this expo. Of course, I’m sure there will be plenty of fans who will be a little letdown. With the hype building from this announcement tease, some fans could have been holding their breaths for something more focused on the games themselves.

That’s not Rob’s fault; it just seems like speculation and hype got built up a little too much. As for Rockstar Games, we know they are busy working their way through Grand Theft Auto VI, which should finally make its way into the marketplace in May of 2026.
