Cyberpunk 2077 Will Only Run 40FPS in Performance Mode Docked

April 3, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

A new report gives a little more insight into Cyberpunk 2077’s performance.

The Nintendo Direct presentation ran yesterday, and it brought with it a flood of news regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and video games that will be coming to the platform. Unfortunately, the stream didn’t run smoothly, as we all experienced the hiccup that froze the video up, causing the audio to go out of sync. Regardless, one of the games that was missed from that presentation was Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red’s latest RPG offering is coming to the new Nintendo console. We might have missed the initial confirmation trailer from the stream, but word quickly spread afterward on the game’s arrival. Today, we’re finding just a little more about what we can expect from this game when it is released.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available on June 5th. SRP is $69.99/€69.99. The game will be distributed on a 64GB game card (containing the game and expansion, no download required), as well as via digital download from Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2.

Players will find that CD Projekt Red will ship the game for $70. This will come with the game and expansion on a 64GB game card. According to CD Projekt Red’s Jan Rosner on X, no download is required either, which I’m sure is more than welcome news. Players not interested in the physical game can still purchase a digital copy on the Nintendo eShop.

Likewise, the game will be released the same day the game console drops. Players can pick up a Nintendo Switch 2 copy of Cyberpunk 2077 on June 5, 2025. While the game was initially released and stumbled out of the gate, developers managed to turn things around. Now, it’s an RPG that fans who have yet to try it out recommend.

Also, for more context on pricing, CDPR tells me that the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 (out June 5) will be $70

That said, credible industry insider Jason Schreier reported that the game will only run at 40fps. Fans can expect this when the game is docked in performance mode. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how well the performance holds up when the game and the Nintendo Switch 2 console launch. If you’re looking to pick up a unit right at launch, then check out the requirements that Nintendo laid out yesterday right here.
