Call of Duty fans might still be waiting to learn what this year’s offering will bring. Officially, we don’t have much to go by. However, a new report for Call of Duty 2025 might have offered a small glimpse into what developers have planned for the beloved zombies game mode. Here’s what is currently being shared.
Tom Henderson is a credible industry insider who recently offered a new report on Call of Duty 2025. Taking to their Inside Gaming website, the insider learned that Treyarch is planning to bring out six round-based zombies maps. So, unfortunately, if you were fond of the open-world zombie gameplay component from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, you’re out of luck. Instead, the focus is back on round-based gameplay.
The report goes on to say that a few ideas are being played around with. Outside of building these maps from the ground up, they might offer some unique settings. According to the report, maps are being considered for Vietnam, Afghanistan, and a space station within the Dark Aether.
Likewise, there are potential plans to release a map set up as a post-WW2 New York that was a victim of a nuclear bomb drop. Another map highlighted in the report suggests we might be sent to a Japanese temple that is experiencing an erupting volcano nearby.
It looks like developers might be getting a little more creative with some of the map settings. Of course, this is just a report of what is potentially planned, as we don’t have anything confirmed quite yet. But since this game is set to release later this year, we’ll learn more about what the development teams have been cooking up in the coming months.
In other recent news regarding Call of Duty, the Black Ops 6 installment recently found a new bug. This multiplayer map bug will instantly kill players as what fans are calling a dead spot.
