Battlefield Labs First Set Of Participants Will Gain Access This Week

March 5, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Battlefield Labs, Battlefield, EA,

Battlefield fans are probably quite excited about this next installment. The franchise hasn’t had that many wins lately, and it looks like EA is doing everything they can to change that. This next installment might be a big one, and to ensure that it gets a solid reception out of the gate, developers are going through a series of tests. Players who are invited can participate in what EA is calling Battlefield Labs.

Today, thanks to a report from Insider Gaming, we’re finding out that the first Battlefield Labs playtest is coming this week. The first test will kick off on Friday, March 7, 2025. According to the report, this first test is strictly confidential, so don’t expect any streams or videos on it. That’s unless some participants opt to break the rules and highlight what they have played.

We also don’t know what exactly is being tested. All that’s apparently stated in the invitation email is that players will be testing concepts and mechanics. The test will take two hours and will be available only on the PC platform.

This is the first of several tests. If you don’t recall, Battlefield Labs is all about getting players access to the game and testing everything. Ultimately, the players’ feedback will shape the game before it is released into the marketplace. Meanwhile, we know that several teams are working on this game.

DICE, Motive, Criterion, and Ripple Effect are among the developers attached to the single-player or multiplayer component of this upcoming Battlefield game. Hopefully, with all these talented folk handling the game and direct player feedback, we’ll actually get a great gameplay experience. At least we’re crossing our fingers that this is the case.

Those interested in testing the game can still sign up if you haven’t already done so. All you have to do is check out EA’s official Battlefield Labs page to go through the sign-up process. It doesn’t mean you’ll get selected to test out the game, but you’ll at least join the pool of willing participants.
