Quite a few fans are waiting for Bethesda to pick things up on The Elder Scrolls franchise. We know that the next game is in the works. Following the immensely successful The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the bar is quite high for The Elder Scrolls VI to surpass. But while we are waiting for new official news to emerge online, there was a recent appearance in the form of a silent auction.
Bethesda partnered up with Make-A-Wish to auction off something truly special for fans of the franchise. Players interested in donating to a cause and are a diehard fan of The Elder Scrolls could have participated in the auction which granted the ability to name an NPC. There were quite a few interested players in getting the chance to leave a historic mark on this franchise, but unfortunately, you needed some deep pockets to compete.
Thanks to an X post from UESP, we learned that a few groups were in the running to win this opportunity. However, ultimately, they were outbid, and the winner paid a whopping $85,450 to name a character in the game. There’s no insight quite yet into what the winner has in mind, but plenty of fans are eager to find out.
Whether it’s a character they are naming in memory of someone or just want to immortalize themselves in the game remains a mystery for now. Of course, we hope to learn anything official about this next installment even outside of the mysterious NPC name. It’s been a long time coming to finally step into The Elder Scrolls franchise’s next thrilling mainline chapter so we’re sure Bethesda is cautious as to what they unveil.
In other recent news, there was a supposed set of leaked details about The Elder Scrolls VI. While not confirmed, the details ranged from the game’s setting and ability to build up structures to even naval battles. You can read more about the leaked details here while we all wait for Bethesda to share new marketing materials on this highly anticipated RPG.
