Assassin’s Creed Shadows is nearing its release. Some fans are building plenty of hype around it, while others are cautiously holding off. Ubisoft could use a win, as we just focused on a new video on this very subject. However, more importantly, the developers are confident in their work and will soon see this game land in the marketplace without further delays.
The news comes from the fine folks at Insider Gaming. They have reportedly spoken with a few sources close to the game production and alerted them that March 20, 2025, should be the finalized date, with new marketing materials coming out between now and its release date. Furthermore, they reportedly noted that there are talks to finalize the embargo date for reviews on this title.
Of course, there’s quite a bit riding on this game. Ubisoft hasn’t been in the best shape lately, and this game is a new major installment for them. It’s potentially a means to turn things around and drive more traffic and revenue to the company. Now that it seems that there will be no further delays, developers seem just as confident that this game will end up delivering.
If you recall, we reported late last month on why Assassin’s Creed Shadows was initially delayed this year. Overall, it seemed that the parkour mechanics required some fine tweaking.
Outside of being set in Japan, the big component here is that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will feature two protagonists. Each will offer some of their own unique attributes to the gameplay experience, but we recently learned that players won’t miss out on much if they mainly play as one character.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still set to release on March 20, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. As it stands, it also looks like a good number of pre-orders have already been placed on this title, which could indicate that more than a few fans are hoping to dive into this gameplay experience at launch.
