Split Fiction Has Officially Gone Gold

January 29, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready. This game won’t see any delays!

Split Fiction wasn’t unveiled all that long ago. During The Game Awards 2024, Josef Fares took to the stage and revealed his next game from Hazelight Studios. Now we know that the developers have reached the fabled gold status, and with it, we can confirm that on March 6, 2025, this game will be readily available for players to pick up.

Hazelight Studios is known for delivering multiplayer games. This would mark their third game in the marketplace, and it will follow the same cooperative multiplayer trend. Essentially, those interested will need to have a second player available to play the entire campaign.

As mentioned, Josef Fares has recently taken to X and unveiled that the development team has reached gold status. For those unaware, it’s a huge milestone in game development. Every project seeks to reach gold as it means development, for the most part, is finished. This is typically when manufacturing takes over, and discs are made, packaged, and sent to retailers. Normally, we see developers continue working through the game to deliver a patch after the game releases.

And also #splitfiction has now gone gold. So get ready on march 6🙌

Ultimately, that means that we shouldn’t expect any sudden delays that will push this game back. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on this title and are just now coming across it, Split Fiction follows two authors, Mio and Zoe. One writes science fiction, while the other focuses on fantasy storylines. However, the two suddenly find themselves swallowed up in these stories.

Now, players are forced to work together as they go through these different stories and find a way back home. Again, if you’ve played the previous games from Hazelight Studios, A Way Out and It Takes Two, you’ll understand what to expect with this upcoming release.

Again, you can mark your calendars as Split Fiction, which is coming on March 6, 2025. You can pick up a copy on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms when the game is released.
