Seeing some of your favorite online games killed off is never fun. Some of these titles are completely useless without servers keeping the game going. So it was quite a disappointment when fans of Friday the 13th: The Game learned that 2025 would mark the year in which the game servers would be shut down for good. While the game hadn’t seen any new updates in quite some time, it didn’t stop players from enjoying it together online.
Today, thanks to Push Square, we’re finding new clips from players showing off the game’s final moments. As you might have suspected, the game’s final moments weren’t spent being competitive but celebrating. Players could be seen going through dancing emotes within cabins as they waited for the end of this virtual world.
If you don’t recall, Friday the 13th: The Game was hit with a lawsuit several years ago. Due to ownership rights, the developers were essentially forced to cease any new content for the game. Likewise, the titles were pulled from various marketplaces not too long after. However, it was confirmed that servers would have remained online until the start of this year. Fortunately, both the developers, Illfonic, and publishers, Gun Media, have gone on to deliver similar gameplay experiences with different IPs.
Illfonic delivered Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game last year, and Gun Media, which is now known as Gun Interactive, helped deliver The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. So, if you haven’t given either of those games a chance, you might not have some incentive to do so now that Friday the 13th: The Game has officially ended.
