Fortnite is running strong years after it first hit the scene. One way it keeps players joining in on the fun is the number of crossovers featured. We have a ton of skins available for players to purchase or unlock. They range from movies, musical artists, video games, and celebrities. But one crossover fan was expecting it to drop already, based on CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
It was rumored that this crossover was coming into the game, but with the latest update to Fortnite, no reference to CD Projekt Red’s RPG was made. Well, thanks to The Gamer, we’re finding out that one industry insider with a track record for Fortnite, Hypex on X, unveiled that a crossover is still happening.
The leaker noted that we can expect Cyberpunk 2077’s Johnny Silverhand to drop into the game on December 23, 2024. That’s just in time for almost everyone’s holiday break. So you can have some fun picking up this character’s skin as you run through some matches. But again, this is just from an insider, and Epic or CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed nothing.
We’ll have to wait for December 23, 2024, to roll around to learn if Johnny Silverhand is, in fact, available in the game. Of course, there is some resurgence for Cyberpunk 2077 as the game just received a surprising 2.2 update. That gives players another reason to dive back into the infamous Night City again, and what better way to hype up the game further and its update than by bringing out a crossover to one of the biggest battle royale games out there?
Meanwhile, we know that CD Projekt Red is already working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, with the development team expecting to double in size next year. Furthermore, CD Projekt Red also has the next installment of The Witcher in full production, with fans getting their first real glimpse at The Witcher 4 during The Game Awards last week.
