Resident Evil 9 & More AAA Capcom Games Coming Next Fiscal Year?

November 19, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

A new statement from Capcom might have revealed a launch window.

Resident Evil fans are waiting for Capcom to unveil the next installment. After the release of Resident Evil 4’s remake, it’s been a mystery what could be coming next. However, there has been plenty of speculation that the next release will be another new mainline installment, that being Resident Evil 9. However, just when the game could come our way is still unclear.

Capcom has remained rather tight-lipped about this franchise. Of course, we might finally see what the next game looks like during The Game Awards. That’s purely speculation, but it is an event that hosts some big world premiere trailers. A new statement from Capcom might have pinpointed that their next big AAA release is coming within the next fiscal year. So perhaps this coming month could be a good opportunity to give this next game its first official tease.

This information comes from a report by Tech4Gamers, who translated a Q&A from Capcom. During the investors’ call, it was asked what would be next after Monster Hunter Wilds in terms of seeing Capcom continue to bring in sales. While not going into specifics, Capcom responded that right now, it depends on the sales status of Monster Hunter Wilds. However, Capcom is already considering launching AAA titles within the next fiscal year.

That has quite a few fans expecting that one of these AAA games would be the highly anticipated Resident Evil 9 release. Still, it seems that the focus is ensuring that Monster Hunter Wilds meets and surpasses Capcom’s sales expectations.

As for Resident Evil 9, we don’t know anything official. Plenty of insider information supposedly leaked, including developers striving to reach a 90+ score on Metacritic. Additionally, some details from a potential leaker unveiled the main protagonists and certain storyline details from a playtest. Now again, this isn’t official news, but it might point towards what we could expect whenever Capcom decides to pull back the veil and showcase the game.
