Pokemon TCG Pocket Team Outline Upcoming Updates For Title

November 14, 2024 by Todd Black

More to get, more to do.

When a game gets a hot start, especially on mobile platforms, many wonder what the teams behind the title will do next. As in, what will be the next big updates that the teams try to do to keep people invested in the game. In the case of Pokemon TCG Pocket, the answers would likely seem to be as basic as possible. After all, the game is the mobile version of the trading card game, so all you would have to do is ensure there are plenty of cards to get and plenty of battles to have. However, The Pokemon Company isn’t going to stop there.

In an official update, the team noted that the game will add new booster packs for players to get by the end of the year. Thus, they’ll be able to expand their decks with all-new cards and combinations. However, if you’ve played the trading card game before, you know that this isn’t the only way to get new cards. Instead, you could always trade with other people you know.

Thankfully, that does seem to be something that’ll hit the Pokemon TCG Pocket title, as they are aiming for a January 2025 release window for this particular feature. Plus, the team teased that even more features are coming to the title in the future! While we don’t know what they are yet, it will likely tie to certain features of the main TCG or improvements to how the game itself works so that things can be even smoother and more robust.

If you haven’t heard, this game has been doing incredibly well since its launch. It got over 10 million downloads within its first 48 hours and grossed $12 million in its first four days! Not too long after that, the team revealed that they had gotten 30 million downloads, and who knows where they are now with that and profits?

The point is that the game is doing really well, and it highlights the current “desire” for fans to play the game in the digital space and not just the physical one. That might seem a bit counterintuitive, but it’s honestly not. After all, being a trading card game fan can be one of the more expensive hobbies you can attempt to afford. We speak from experience on this one.

Having everything in the digital space is not only cheaper, but it opens up options regarding who you can face in battles. So, yeah, people are into that.
