Silent Hill fans are counting down the days before they can finally dive into the Silent Hill 2 remake. After Konami unveiled its plans to bring this IP back into the limelight, one of the more anticipated releases announced was a remake of the series’ pinnacle installment. But we’re still a few days away before we can get to check this title out. As a result, another comparison video has been released, giving you another look at the game before it drops into the marketplace.
If you don’t already know, Silent Hill 2 wasn’t made in-house at Konami. While the developers within Konami initially brought this game out, the new remake was handled by the Bloober Team. It left some fans skeptical, but we’ve seen plenty of reports of Bloober Team focusing on a faithful remake. Today, you can get another look at how the remake is faithful to the original game with a new comparison video released by PlayStation.
PlayStation Underground released a new episode highlighting the Flesh Lip boss battle for Silent Hill 2. The video first looks at the original battle encounter from 2001 and then highlights the battle with the upcoming remake. The video also features commentary from Bloober Team’s creative director, Mateusz Lenart, and lead writer, Andrzej Mądrzak. These two offered some insights into making this section of the game.
Silent Hill 2, as mentioned, is nearing its release date. We even have a report on when you could pre-load the game and its official release time for both the standard and deluxe editions of the game. For those unaware, players can expect the game to launch on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. That said, it’s been reported that the PlayStation 5 version of the game is just a timed exclusive deal, so we could see Konami bring this game out to the Xbox Series X/S later on.
