Xbox Game Pass is a solid service to subscribe to for both players on the latest-generation Xbox console platform and fans of cloud gaming. The subscription service is filled with video game titles you can freely enjoy, and it has the added benefit of all first-party Microsoft titles coming to it. That said, there is a rotating collection of games from third-party developers.
Each month, Microsoft holds two waves for Xbox Game Pass. Each wave brings in a new collection of video game titles to enjoy. Typically, we don’t get any insight what is arriving to the service outside of previously announced day one launches for Game Pass subscribers or the first-party title reveals. So it’s a bit of a surprise to see what new additions are coming to Game Pass when Microsoft unveils these waves.
However, on the flip side of that coin, some games leave the subscription service. While we don’t know how long some of these games are secured under Xbox Game Pass, new wave announcements typically come with the announcement of games leaving the subscription service. For instance, we are seeing the departure of nine games from the subscription service wave two of September.
As we reported earlier this month, the games leaving the subscription service are below. There are some incentives, though, for checking this list out. Microsoft offers Xbox Game Pass subscribers a special 20% discount for all games leaving. This way, if you’re enjoying the game and want to keep it in your digital library, you’ll at least score the purchase without paying full price after it leaves the service.
