For Silent Hill fans, we’ve lived in limbo for several years. Konami wasn’t bringing this franchise back into the limelight, and several attempts after the disbanding of Team Silent typically brought subpar gameplay experiences. However, that has changed recently, as the IP is getting a big revival. One of the games fans are eager to try is Silent Hill 2, a remake of the classic 2001 game.
Silent Hill 2 is nearing its release, and fans eagerly await to grab their copy. We’ve slowly seen snippets of the game as developers Bloober Team worked through the project. But the wait is winding down. We know we will get our hands on Silent Hill 2 on October 8, 2024. However, we now know when the embargoes for review will be lifted.
Game journalist Grzegorz Suteniec took to X and alerted their followers that embargoes are reportedly lifting on October 4, 2024. That’s just a few days before the official game becomes public. So we’ll get some critic reviews of the game if you’re undecided on whether this remake is worth the purchase. Of course, Suteniec also noted that Bloober Team’s Piotr Babieno is confident about the high quality of the game.
So we should get something grand that the development team is proud to ship. But we’ll have to wait for critical reviews to see if some players agree with Piotr. Likewise, players could have some differences of opinion compared to the critic reviews. We’re interested in hearing both sides of the coin when the game officially launches into the marketplace.
That said, when the game launches, it will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. We even saw a trailer highlighting some of the PlayStation 5 immersive features for players to consider when deciding whether to purchase this game. But we also know that this is just a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5, as it will last for a year before we potentially see the game arrive on other platforms.
