Fans of Eve, rejoice: Stellar Blade will finally be adding a photo mode later this year, allowing players to pose Eve, change her outfit, and add visual effects to screenshots. This wasn’t the only exciting news announced during yesterday’s State of Play presentation, as the game will also be getting Nier Automata DLC sometime in 2024.
No exact dates for these additions have been announced.
The trailer (posted below) shows Eve in a costume inspired by 2B from Nier Automata, though no other details about the DLC have been revealed just yet.
Additionally, the Stellar Blade soundtrack is also now available on all major streaming platforms, boasting over 180 songs.
This crossover is something fans have wanted to see ever since Nier creator Yoko Taro sat down with Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae back in April. Taro was quick to put his own creation down while showering Shift Up’s title in praise.
“Stellar Blade is such an amazing game,” Taro said. “I think it’s much better than Nier: Automata. [Graphics] have reached a completely new generation of quality.”
Addressing Kim directly, Taro also noted his jealousy stemming from the fact that the upcoming game “shows that you have your own company and are working with like-minded people.”
Unsurprisingly, this level of praise shocked Kim, who responded in the negative. “The more we talk about it, the more I feel like Stellar Blade can’t compete,” he said. “I consider myself a visualist, not a storyteller. I’ve been creating visuals all my life, so I can’t quite match Yoko Taro when it comes to storytelling. I try to make up for this with gameplay.”
Stellar Blade was released for PlayStation 5 on April 26. As of June, the game had sold over 1 million units.
