There have been a ton of rumors rampant online suggesting that Sony was holding a special presentation this week. If the rumors were to be believed, it would be a big announcement before a new State of Play stream. Today, we have the official confirmation that a special PlayStation 5 technical presentation will occur tomorrow at 8:00 AM PT.
Sony took to its official PlayStation Blog to confirm that there is a presentation coming tomorrow at 8:00 AM PT on the PlayStation 5 and gaming technology innovations. We know that this presentation will be nine minutes long and hosted by Mark Cerny. If you’re unfamiliar with the name, Mark Cerny is the lead architect of the PlayStation 5 console.
Now, nothing more is given about the presentation other than that it will be available on the PlayStation YouTube channel. We also know that potential copyright content is featured, so you might want to take this into account if you plan to co-stream and offer VODs of your reaction or commentary.
That said, nothing else notifying what this presentation will pertain to. As mentioned, there were rumors of a big announcement coming, with most speculating that this would be Sony’s formal announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro. That should offer a big jump in power and capabilities for consumers who want to either upgrade or make their first adaptation to the PlayStation 5 lineup.
At any rate, we’ll know more tomorrow when the presentation kicks off. Likewise, it would be interesting to see if a PlayStation State of Play event is confirmed later this month. If this is the PlayStation 5 Pro announcement, we imagine the State of Play event will further show off how games will run on the new console model.
