Destiny Quest, Item, and Activity Fixes in New Update

In the past few hours, a new Destiny patch was added to the game. Destiny Hot Fix – 05/03/2016 explains what “2.2.0.2 – The one about melee attacks” is all about.

Oddly enough, the melee attacks changes that the hot fix alludes to aren’t going to be activated until Tuesday, May 10th at 10AM Pacific. They fixed a bug that would start a “melee target search from an incorrect position, frequently coming up short and causing the melee attack to whiff,” and they adjusted the melee strike validation logic and player position networking during melee attacks to improve reliability across their network.

In terms of activities, an issue with chest in the Prison of Elders challenge modes not giving loot has been fixed. Also, the problem with the Weekly Nightfall not dropping Ghosts above the player’s Light correctly has been taken care of.

With regards to Quest stuff – you can now properly complete the “With Finesse and Speed” quest if you had an issue with that. But this update also stops people from purchasing Dreadfang before completing that associated quest to acquire it.

For item specifics, there should be no more issues with Faction Class items not allowing quest progression for Factions. In addition, the Hunter “Spektar Grasps” item now displays all geometry properly on Xbox 360 and PS3. The Cryptarch Rank Up packages no longer give Year 1 Engrams, and finally they “fixed an issue that would allow Universal Remote to decrypt from Special Weapon engrams when it is a primary weapon”.
