The Casting of Frank Stone Demo Now Available

August 27, 2024 by Carley Garcia

Curious players can now try the game on Steam ahead of its launch next week.

Ahead of the launch of the single-player cinematic horror game The Casting of Frank Stone on September 3, a demo has appeared on Steam. Players will step into the shoes of police officer Sam Green in the brief prologue, as they investigate the bizarre disappearance of a child.

“This demo serves as the prologue to the main game, offering a deeply engaging segment packed with twists, turns, and hidden Easter eggs that fans of Dead by Daylight will be eager to uncover,” the game’s Steam page reads.

“While the progression from the demo will not carry over to the full game, it provides a unique opportunity to experiment with the game’s mechanics and explore various outcomes and secrets by testing different paths and choices,” it goes on. The full game, out next week on 3rd September, features a young ensemble cast, and sees you pursuing a serial killer whose crimes “spawn horrors beyond comprehension”.

The Standard Edition of The Casting of Frank Stone will cost $39,99, while the Deluxe Edition will set players back $49.99 and will include instant access to ‘The Cutting Room Floor’ feature, allowing players to return to key decision points in the story to change a certain outcome or find missed collectibles. The Deluxe Edition will also include eight exclusive costumes.

“The Casting of Frank Stone is a single-player cinematic nightmare revolving around four friends who, while shooting a movie, unlock horrors beyond comprehension,” the game’s official description reads. “Set in the world of Dead by Daylight, the game takes the popular long-running title into unexplored territory making it a can’t-miss horror experience for fans and newcomers alike.”

The Casting of Frank Stone will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 3, 2024. Pre-orders are now open.
