Tokyo Game Show 2024 is shaping up to be one of the largest gaming events in recent history, with over 731 exhibitors and 3,190 booths currently confirmed to be appearing at the September convention. Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will fully return to this year’s event, breaking five years of PlayStation silence at what many consider the Olympics of gaming events.
While Sony was present at last year’s Tokyo Game Show, it only presented smaller independent titles. While it’s unclear what PlayStation titles will be featured this year, many are hoping for more information about Death Stranding 2.
Tokyo Game Show 2024 will be held at Makuhari Messe in Mihama-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. Over a quarter of a million people are expected to attend between September 26 and September 29.
“The event will be held on the largest-ever scale and will host a total of 3190 exhibition booths, exceeding last year’s record in TGS history,” reads a post made on the event’s official X page. 448 exhibitors will be Japanese, while 283 will come from overseas.
“This year we plan to implement a number of measures to increase the number of visitors from overseas,” the event’s official website reads. “We will also form partnerships with travel agencies to allow game fans from around the world to experience a closer Japan and a closer Tokyo Game Show. We hope to create a robust Tokyo Game Show that can meet the various needs of the world, and together we will create a one-of-a-kind event that is second to no other game or entertainment event in the world.”
