Final Fantasy XIV is one of the most popular MMOs on the planet. Ahead of the release of the new Dawntrail expansion this July, the development team is doing everything they can to keep things running smoothly. To avoid long queue times, a new logical data center will be added to the North American data center.
Named Dynamis–a name snagged from the Endwalker expansion–the data center will house four new worlds: Cuchulainn, Golem, Kraken, and Rafflesia. The new worlds will open on June 11 at 3 AM PST.
Players creating a character on the new servers will get some bonuses, including double EXP until level 80, a gift of 10 silver chocobo features, 1,000,000 gil, and 15 free days of playtime. Transferring to any of the new worlds from existing worlds is free, and these players will also get bonus EXP and ten chocobo feathers.
The Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV will be released on July 2, but players preordering the expansion will be able to play a few days early on June 28. The long-awaited release will bring with it a level cap boost from 90 to 100, a new playable race, two new DPS classes, new cities, new dungeons and raids, a new limited job, and an entirely new story arc.
The 7.0 update will improve the game’s visuals, including textures, hair, grass, shadows, and reflections. This will be the title’s first graphical upgrade since it was first released in 2013. An updated benchmark tool was released yesterday.
Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The MMO was fully released on Xbox Series X/S on March 21.
