Ubisoft’s new shooter game XDefiant which was one that was often times compared to Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The game will be officially releasing this week, and the developers have discussed how the game won’t be stuck behind a pay wall where players will need to pay in order to win or progress in the game. In their recent blog post, they go on to talk about the “in-game purchase philosophy” which is part of that.
The blog post from the developers goes on to express how players will be able to purchase or earn via a challenge within the game according to GameSpot. They were also sure to note that players would be able to unlock rewards for free, at least some of them, a lot like Fortnite works with their battle passes for those that choose to not pay for them.
With all that being said, XDefiant will have a premium battle pass which players who choose to pay for it. It will feature different things for characters, cosmetics, and more. Another thing to keep in mind is that, while this game is free-to-play shooter like Fortnite, it also won’t have any skill-based matchmaking which is supposed to help the game remain casual.
XDefiant has been set to release for a while now and it is finally happening on May 21, giving the world another free-to-play shooter game that many will find themselves getting wrapped up in. The game will be avaliable on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5.
