For many gamers, it doesn’t matter what their consoles look like; it just matters that they play the games they buy without issue. Others want something to showcase their nerddom or gamer style in a flashy way so that they can boast what they have to other gamers. Why just have “a console” when you can have one with a cool-looking skin? That’s what we thought. For those who are fans of the epic X-Men 97 cartoon that’s currently rocking Disney+, an Xbox Series X and a special Xbox controller are awaiting you via a special contest that you can enter right now.
The reveal was made on Twitter, and it’s easy to enter. All you have to do is RT the tweet below and follow the Xbox page to get the custom Wolverine controller with a “comic-wrapped” Xbox Series X! Just being honest here, it’s definitely one of the most unique console wraps we’ve ever seen.
You have until May 20th to enter, so you can take your time with it or try and figure out multiple ways to get multiple entries so you can win! Whatever works for you.
The timing of this is perfect because X-Men 97 is bringing fans to their knees with both the incredible animation that the show has and the emotional stories that no one was prepared for. Seriously, this show is incredible, and fans everywhere are praising every single episode that has come out so far. The irony of the show being so good is many-fold.
First, this is a continuation of a show that hasn’t been on the air officially in decades. Typically, such “rebirths” only go so far in trying to recapture what came before. However, with this series, the team didn’t hold back, even with only eight episodes. They decided to crank everything up to eleven and ensure that long-time fans of the franchise, as well as new people coming in to see what all the hype was about, would be impressed.
Second, there have been many recent attempts in animation to make things “feel relevant again” or try to “do something special,” and it’s backfired because they were afraid that younger or older fans wouldn’t watch it. And yet, with X-Men 97, not only is it one of the most-watched things on Disney+, every single episode leads to tons of social media interaction, and fans are begging for other shows to be brought back in this way.
So, for Microsoft to try and capitalize on this? Yeah, it makes sense.
