As we’ve covered quite a bit on the site, the Splatoon 3 Splatfests are events that fans can’t get enough of in one form or another. They are truly fun little get-togethers where fans show their love of various topics and constantly surprise one another with who they side with and how far they’ll go to push the side they want to win. Over the weekend, Nintendo dropped another Splatfest for fans to enjoy, and, needless to say, it was one of the oddest topics you’ll ever see. Why? Because it was all about the “fluffy” via having fans pick which “fluffy baby animal” they would rather have. Would they prefer to have baby chicks, baby rabbits, or baby bears? Even the picture showcasing the three animals highlights the fluffiness of it all!!!
Why was that such an odd topic? Think about some of the other topics we’ve seen in the past. We’ve had battles between Pokemon, Transformers, the characters from Spongebob Squarepants’ universe, serious debates about love, money, and fame, and the list goes on and on. So, to go from topics like that to talking about cute and fluffy animals is likely through some people for a loop. However, when you think about recent Splatfests, you know that Nintendo has been going for more “odd” topics as of late.
Regardless of the oddities of it all, the Splatfest is over, and the winner is…
Yep, in yet another surprise verdict, a recurring theme from recent times, baby bears took the victory with a rather large gap! This will likely stun people because we just came off of Easter, which is all about baby chicks and rabbits in certain ways, including certain foods that are modeled after them. We could tell you which one we’re talking about specifically, but we promised not to say a Peep. Sorry, we laid an egg with that joke.
Baby bears, meanwhile, despite being adorable, have a bit of a handicap due to how they often group up to be rather unstoppable forces of nature that few want to mess with. But in a Splatfest, those thoughts apparently don’t matter, and thus, the Nintendo Switch gamers sided with them, and they got a big victory.
This just goes to show why one needs to play the Splatfest to try and influence the result, and never be afraid to pick the “less obvious choices,” because they just might win it all.
As for what Splatoon 3 will do for its next Splatfest, we likely won’t have to wait too long to find out, given Nintendo’s recent history.
