The King of Fighters XIV Launches On August 24th For PS4

April 25, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

With a total of fifty fighters within the roster, there will be plenty of options for 3-on-3 Team Battles.

The King of Fighters series is coming back and it will release this coming August, exclusively for the PlayStation 4. This will mark as the latest main installment to the video game series since 2010 release of The King of Fighters XIII.

From development team SNK Playmore and published through Atlus USA, we can get the next main installment to The King of Fighters series, The King of Fighters XIV on August 23, 2016, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

According to on the official PlayStation blog from John Hardin, PR manager for Atlus, gamers should prepare for the next brand new chapter within The King of Fighters series. This will apparently bring the series back to its roots after the countless spin-offs and tournaments worldwide that started to lower the overall quality of the video game series.

The backstory of the overall campaign within The King of Fighters XIV is still unknown, but we do know that Shun’ei is a new character that will play an important role in the game’s story.

With no word on if there will be future DLC packs that will offer new fighters, there will at the very least be a total of fifty fighters within the roster, some old fan favorite characters along with some new combatants. This may seem like a pretty big roster, but with the 3-on-3 Team Battles that The King of Fighters series is known for, gamers will want as many fighters to choose from as possible.

The King of Fighters XIV is all about multiplayer with its various game modes outside of the Story Mode. These range from the 3-on-3 Team Battles to even makeshift Party Battles that allow groups of friends compete against each other online.

As mentioned, you can get your hands on The King of Fighters XIV this August 24, 2016, exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
