There is quite a bit of anticipation over the next installment of the Death Stranding franchise. The game was the debut title for Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions studio. After the split between Konami, Hideo was able to turn around and deliver a hit action game in 2019. Fortunately, if you enjoyed the game, you know a sequel is also lined up. Like the first trailer showcasing Death Stranding, this Death Stranding 2 left plenty of players scratching their heads. Alongside the players who are eager to dive into the game are the actors who are actually attached to the game.
After its nearly ten-year hiatus, Hideo Kojima has returned to his YouTube series, HideoTube. Thanks to a report from Gamesradar, we’re finding out that the first episode featured the actor who does Sam Porter Bridges’ dialogue in the Japanese dub. We know Sam is a prominent character in the upcoming sequel, but if you ask the actor attached to Sam in this upcoming production, they are just as clueless about what’s happening in this game. That’s because Hideo is not providing any context for the actor right now. Instead, outside of the lines voiced for the trailer, nothing more was shared for the actor.
It looks like Hideo Kojima is keeping the storyline a secret and will be sharing more about what this upcoming game will entail when the actor steps into the sound booth. Hideo reassured the actor that everything would start to make sense when they began recording, but until then, everyone outside of the development was being kept in the dark. With that said, the recording process shouldn’t be too far away, as the game is still slated to land in the marketplace sometime in 2025.
We haven’t seen much of Death Stranding 2, but a recent trailer from the PlayStation State of Play gave players a new look into some of the characters that will pop up. We know that the official title is also Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, where it seems like Sam is on a mission to connect settlements outside the country from the first game. But again, details are still very much a mystery right now. Instead, we’ll have to wait for this new installment’s next showcase to pop up. That said, we know that when this upcoming installment launches, it will be available for the PlayStation 5 platform. With that said, we did see the first game land on the PC platform later on, so we’re also expecting the same with the sequel sometime later on.
