CD Projekt Red Hires More Talent To Aid Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel

February 6, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

More hands on deck.

There was quite a massive amount of hype built up around Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red teased the game for a good while before it was eventually released into the marketplace. This proved to be a disaster plan on the development team’s part. Hyping the game up and rushing to deliver the title despite undergoing a series of delays ultimately made for a terrible launch. It was not ready to be released, and the studio spent a ton of time and resources getting the game back to their expectations. Despite that horrible launch, the game franchise will receive a sequel, and it looks like more talent was hired to help get the game through the finish line.

Cyberpunk 2077 might have had a terrible launch, but the folks over at CD Projekt Red managed to turn the game around. Now, their focus is on a few other projects, including Project Orion. This project is the working title for the successor to their Cyberpunk 2077 release, and it’s being done under a new studio. CD Projekt Red established a studio based in Boston, Massachusetts, where the group will help tell the next thrilling RPG story. Nothing is known right now about what this next game will be about, but it has quite a few veterans from the original Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty expansion working on the game.

We know it will be a long wait before we get any insight into what this next game will be about. However, a new press release from CD Projekt Red confirmed that they had hired a few more industry professionals to lend a hand. These include producers, various directors, and authors. Their previous works include games like Hitman, Diablo III, Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Control, Fable, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and more.

The press release went on to state that more job openings will be posted to help flesh out the team working on this game. Unfortunately, as mentioned, we might be waiting in the dark for a while when it comes to what this next game is centered around. Of course, before then, we should hear more about the next project slated to release under CD Projekt Red, a new installment under The Witcher franchise. But even that doesn’t have much news outside of the game entering full production.
