Are you pumped for the arrival of the new game? What are you going to do first once it arrives? Let us know below!
ORIGINAL STORY
January is already half over; can you believe it? But with the passing of days comes the opportunity to get closer to the big game releases of the month! There will be quite a few within a short span, and one of them comes from Bandai Namco! On January 26th, “Fist Meets Fate” as Tekken 8 will be released. The company is definitely banking on the title doing as well sales-wise as the previous entry, if not better. You can see this in the videos they’ve been posting with regular frequency so that gamers know it’s coming and know who they’ll be playing as.
Today, Tekken 8 dropped its opening movie that you’ll get to experience once you start the title. As you can imagine, the video is full of action, characters, and hints as to what is coming. For example, the film highlights the struggle between Kazuya Mishima and his son, Jin Kazama. In the last game, Kazuya killed his father, Heihachi Mishima, and through that death, took his place on the throne of his father’s company and planned to take over the world.
As we can see in the opening of the video, that’s exactly what’s happening, as Kazuya and Jin start fighting in a city that is being destroyed all around them. True to the nature of video games, we also see glimpses of all the characters who will help partake in the war to come. Some of them, like Nina Williams, will be on Kazuya’s side and will help his robotic army take over. Other characters will support Jin so that he can take down his father and free the world from his grip. But whether he will do so is still up in the air.
Just as important as all that is the teases throughout the movie of Jin’s mother, Jun Kazama. She’s been “missing in action” since the second game in the series and has been one of the fuels for Jin’s rage towards the Mishima line, among others. But now, she’s back, and it appears she’s here to finally help her son and possibly end the Devil Gene curse once and for all
Regardless of the storyline, longtime fans know that the game will have plenty of action both within the story and the various other modes that the game will drop. Plus, the trailer ended with the confirmation of Eddie Gordo being the first DLC character for the title, with the rest coming in subsequent seasons.
