There is a ton of hype built up around Grand Theft Auto VI. The video game installment was leaked online last year, and that alone caused fans to speculate endlessly on just when we’ll see the game launch. Those leaked clips were early builds, so at the very least, it showed that Rockstar Games was making some progress into the next installment. However, it was just this month that the confirmation came. Rockstar Games will be ready to share the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer to the public this coming month. With fans just weeks away before we get our first taste of what’s next in this franchise behemoth, new rumors turn toward who might return.
Most often, the line of Grand Theft Auto games doesn’t offer much in terms of past game characters’ return. There might be some small references or even a quick cameo, but beyond that, the focus has mainly been on the newcomers to the franchise. However, Grand Theft Auto V launched all the way back in 2013. We had ten years to spend with some of these iconic characters, so some fans hope we’ll see some kind of a return. Unfortunately, don’t bother asking the actors themselves, as they have been keen on avoiding anything remotely close to a confirmation of their return.
Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from looking closely at some of the actor’s social media accounts. For instance, thanks to a screenshot by Billsyliamgta on X, we’re finding out a post from Shawn Fonteno was quickly deleted. Some fans speculate that Shawn might have some insider knowledge or even involvement in this next game. For those who might be unaware, Shawn portrayed Franklin in Grand Theft Auto V. Just yesterday, the actor took to X and posted a message saying, “If I told yall I might get in trouble,” which has sparked a wildfire of interest.
Some fans speculate that Shawn might have had the chance to view the trailer for the next game. Others feel that there might be some involvement with the next installment, such as Franklin returning in some capacity. Meanwhile, Ned Luke, the actor who portrayed Michael, chimed in, telling Shawn to go play Modern Warfare with emojis representing the hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.
That post has since been removed, but rumors continue to turn out online. We don’t know what it all means quite yet. But again, we’re just a few weeks from when we’ll finally get our first look into the next installment. This video alone will spark quite a bit of speculation online for what exactly we’ll be in store for when the next installment eventually releases.
