UPDATE
Are you happy to see Yukari get this spotlight? What character from the game do you want to see next? Let us know below!
ORIGINAL STORY
If you’ve been waiting for Persona 3 Reload, you’re not alone. The anticipated remake of the game that helped take Atlus’ now-beloved RPG to new heights will arrive next year, and fans can’t wait. Atlus has been playing the long game with this title regarding its promotion. They’ve been waiting for full moons to drop new trailers with information and insights into the gameplay. The latest one was last night, and they celebrated that one by diving into one of the key characters you’ll play alongside, Yukari! So, are you ready to learn more about the huntress who will be ready to fight with her mighty bow?
Yukari Takeba is one of the members of the SEES group that will take the fight to the monsters of Tartarus. She’s a strong and confident young lady who isn’t afraid to chase things and put people in their place, including some of her teammates. When she’s in battle, she’ll use her bow and Persona to great effect and can be a devastating foe to deal with. You can check out her reveal trailer below:
While we don’t get the deepest dive into her character or backstory, we do get to hear her voice actress, Heather Gonzalez, and the full character model in 2D and 3D form. Just as important, through this trailer, we’re seeing some of the small personalized improvements that Atlus is making for the remake. For example, you’ll notice that the voiced scenes also have the 2D art moving as the person talks. It’s a small touch but a welcome one.
Then, for battle, when someone like Yukari hits a critical move, she’ll do a more elaborate animation to sell the shot’s impact. We also got to see some of the “social link” scenes, like how the main character can take Yukari to the movies to build up his bond with her.
Persona 3 Reload was rebuilt from the ground up to embrace the graphical style of the 5th mainline title while also maintaining its identity. Again, this was the title that saved the entire franchise. Atlus wasn’t sure if they would get to make more games, so the director behind the original version started changing things so that fans would want to check it out, and it worked.
Fast forward to now, and the remake is incredibly hyped, and people want to play it in full, given how “old” the original version is. The remake will arrive next year.
